Keto Chocolate Cream Shake Recipe

When I first started on the night shift my favorite drink was coffee w/cream mixed with a packet of hot cocoa. I have come a long way since then and my overall health has definitely improved. One thing that hasn’t changed is my love for liquid calories. I consider myself a bit of a foodie and I love to cook, at least for myself, but in order to ensure, I am consuming enough calories most of the time I have to meal prep quite a bit.

Let me tell you meal prep gets a little old after a while.

Insert nutritional liquid calorie powerhouse. No matter which diet you are following be it paleo/primal, keto, or just clean eating. Liquid calories can play a role in ensuring you’re getting the necessary micro and macronutrients. If you are smart about it.

Most places that sell smoothies or liquid calories are just pushing sugar, and “natural flavors”, that is why it is always best to learn to prepare your own.

Knowledge is power.

This week is my take a nice creamy throwback to my coffee and hot cocoa days with the nice mix of healthy fats that fit in perfectly with a ketogenic or low carbohydrate diet.

 0.25 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
 2 tbsp Hemp Seeds
 1 tbsp Cacao Powder
 1 Dark Chocolate 86%
 0.50 Scoop Whey Protein
 0.50 cup Ice
 1 tbsp Stevia
 1 tbsp Vanilla
 1 tbsp Cinnamon

Simply add all ingredients to blender and blend.

    Looks great, but please, what is the quantity of the chocolate in this recipe? As written, it is just 1. One square? Thanks!

      That would be 1 square. Great catch on that. I don’t always measure it out. Sometimes they don’t break evenly and I find I am craving chocolate.
